Williams Township employee Kevin Roth pays tickets that led to suspended license

Roth, court records say, pleaded guilty and paid 2008 fines Wednesday that led District Judge Daniel Corpora's office to request that his driver's license be suspended nearly two years ago. He owed $282 in fines for two citations issued by Pennsylvania State Police for driving an unregistered vehicle and having an expired inspection, records say.

The 39-year-old also owes the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation $25, but it's not clear whether he paid that fee.

Paying the fines and fees may not be enough to save Roth's job, however.

Township officials learned about his suspended license when he hit township resident Lori Johnson with a municipal dump truck Feb. 10. Johnson's husband says she suffered two crushed feet. Roth is charged with the criminal offense of driving with a suspended license.

As of Thursday evening, 59 percent of lehighvalleylive.com visitors think Roth should be fired and his supervisor disciplined. Another 28 percent think he should be fired. The remaining 13 percent think he should be suspended without pay. Take the poll.

Roth is currently on unpaid suspension.
